The Chosen Ones

Well, year 5 of the Black Celebratory is in the books!! It was a beautiful night on campus as we were able to honor many African American graduates.

As for the shoes I wore, many of my faithful readers have seen this pair before…

I absolutely loooooove wearing these shoes with this dress, and it’s even more special because tonight, all long-time affiliate members were honored with our very own kente stoles with our personal initials!!!

Thanks again to all of you for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my shoe countdown this week as much as I did!

Please send me other shoe ideas, trends, ect. that you would like for me to cover on this blog!

Shoe Recap!

My Dear Readers,

I hope you all have enjoyed my shoe countdown this week!

Here’s a recap:

Year one- Tan BCBG Heels

Year two- Blue Suede T-strap peep-toe heels

Year Three- Ballerina Heels by Jessica Simpson

Year Four- Python by Michael Kors

More than anything, I think this has shown the nice variety of shoes that are in my collection, and that I’m an all-around shoe lover. High-end, or low-end, as long as the shoe fits my foots, and adds comfort and style, then it’s good with me!

Since the event is in the evening (and some of my blog readers are attending the event tonight) I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Therefore, Check back tomorrow for a showing of the outfit I wore today with the shoes from Year Five!!

Suede Sole Sistas

My Dear Brunch and Pumps readers, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!! My time away from this blog was unintentional and waaaay longer than I expected.

I’m returning today with a newfound theory: Suede isn’t just for the Fall.

Pictured here you see two of my favorite pair of suede shoes.

The pair on the left is a gray suede spiked ankle strap pump by GUESS with a metallic heel. The pair on the right is a deep fuchsia/purple tie-up bootie with a collar back and gold detail.

What I love about both pairs is that they can be worn to match an outfit, or as a statement piece or add color-blocking detail.

I’m sure I’ve written about one or both pair before, but I felt they were worth mentioning again as I’ve been wearing them a lot this winter despite the snow here. Sure, it takes a little extra planning, but carry a shoe bag with you to your destination and pop on your suede soles to add some spice to your outfit!

Like/comment on this post if you want me to show a few pics modeling these shoes!!

“Shoesday” Edition: Wear Shoes and Eat Cake Too!

IMG_2345This entire cake is edible, but because of the creativity and artistry, who would WANT to eat it???!!!

I found this photo about a year ago (again on Pinterest) and excuse me for saying that I instantly wanted to have a party so as to have an excuse to get this cake made!

Shoelovers, what do you think? Would you want to eat this cake?

PS- If you know anyone that makes cakes like this, send them my way!!

April Showers Brings…

For years I’ve seen girls wear the cutest styles of rainboots: Burberry,

florals, Coach, polka dots you name it! As much as I liked them I didn’t feel I needed to buy a pair.

These are so cute I wouldn't even want to wear them!

Patterns!!

Patterns!!

But, I caved in. (it should be mentioned that I went to DSW for rainboots ONLY because I had store credit that I wanted to use).

I didn’t buy the most pimped out pair, but instead I bought an everyday/ average navy blue pair with a pop of pink on the trim of the boots.

Yes, they have come in handy,

Yes, I plan to buy another pair (patterned this time)

and Yes, wearing these rain boots makes me want to go fishing-seriously. Boots

So, to the month of April I say “Bring on the showers, because I will be fashionably ready!”
