Suede Sole Sistas

My Dear Brunch and Pumps readers, PLEASE FORGIVE ME!! My time away from this blog was unintentional and waaaay longer than I expected.

I’m returning today with a newfound theory: Suede isn’t just for the Fall.

Pictured here you see two of my favorite pair of suede shoes.

The pair on the left is a gray suede spiked ankle strap pump by GUESS with a metallic heel. The pair on the right is a deep fuchsia/purple tie-up bootie with a collar back and gold detail.

What I love about both pairs is that they can be worn to match an outfit, or as a statement piece or add color-blocking detail.

I’m sure I’ve written about one or both pair before, but I felt they were worth mentioning again as I’ve been wearing them a lot this winter despite the snow here. Sure, it takes a little extra planning, but carry a shoe bag with you to your destination and pop on your suede soles to add some spice to your outfit!

“ShoesDay” Edition: Fierce for Fall

As a Shoelover, I tend to shop at DSW most of the time. However, after taking a trip to the mall with my friend Genell, we ended up in Aldo, a shoe store I rarely frequent. But, on this particular night I’m glad we stopped there because 1) I received GREAT customer service (shoutout to Von at Aldo) and 2) I purchased my first pair of fall shoes for 2015!!

Here they are…

I LOVE the color and the high collar design on the back of the shoe. (Can I just add that I think my toenail polish color makes the shoe pop, and no it wasn’t planned). I am looking forward to styling these shoes with skinny jeans, skirts, and using them as a pop of color for a basic outfit.

The sales associate, Von, was very helpful. His styling tip suggestions along with Genell’s approval sealed the deal for me to add these shoes to my collection. Von even reminded me of the importance of using protective cleaner for my suede shoes. As the fall of the year nears, I I will report back on how the cleaner works, so stay tuned!!

Thanks to Genell and Von, and for all my shoelovers, Happy “Shoes-Day”!!

ShoesDay Edition: Barely There

Summer is the season where most people tend to get away with wearing less on purpose. While I’m not advocating this style, I couldn’t help noticing that this trend has presented itself in the world of shoes by means of the Barely There Sandals. Unknown-1

These sandals give your foot minimum coverage, and minimum support. However, paired with the right jeans, and or skirt, (and a nice pedicure, of course) these shoes provide a sexy look for the summer since the entire arch of the foot is shown.

I only own one pair (got them from Target). They are a nude pair with a black ankle strap which provides a nice color contrast to the shoe. Ladies, be prepared to walk on the ball of your foot in these sandals. Yes, this is just one more thing that we do (or wear) for the sake of beauty.
